For the 4th of July holiday, I thought it would be interesting to check out the Veterans Freedom Park in Cary, NC. Its centerpiece is the Freedom Tower, a 90-foot granite spire surrounded by circular seating at the base. The seals of the five branches of the military is etched on the ground. There are memorial service flags and a fallen solder sculpture. I didn’t think much of it but it is actually a nice quiet space to honor and reflect on those who served, are currently serving, and those who will serve and protect this country’s freedom.
